structured rants from systemic scars
Written by—Tisha Evite
About the publication—I’m Tisha Evite, an economist, scholar, Filipina, eldest daughter.
TLDR: In this substack, you’ll find posts that are organized versions of my internal monologue related to these multiple hats I wear.
I am also an advocate not only of criticizing the field I am in (doing heterodox economics) but also in making people understand why we have to challenge them (economics literacy). One way I do this is through the youth-led non-profit I started in 2020 called Ekonsepto, where we breakdown economic issues in Tagalog through infographics and podcasts. I believe that people should be equipped to make informed decisions about economic policies that affect their daily lives (prices, taxes, social security, etc!) and we should not leave it to experts (not even me!)
As an academician, I do publish “nerdy” versions of the issues close to me such as (thematically) inequality, climate justice, and alternative economies or (geographically) Global South focused, which you can find on my website.
But I also just want to talk like a normal person and freely without affiliations (hehehehehe). So this is place is for that.
